Suite Moderne for Flute Choir is a transcription for Flute Choirs of 5 to 500 players of James Adler’s Suite Moderne for Strings. The original string version received its world premiere on February 1, 1987, by the Concerto Soloists Chamber Orchestra of Philadelphia, conducted by the composer. The flute choir version received its world premiere in 2022 in New York City by flutists of the Queer Urban Orchestra.

All parts have small amounts of optional divisi for larger choirs. Quintets should omit the divisi notes in parentheses, and larger choirs can divide as needed. The Flute 3 part for movement 3 (Gavotte) can be played on Alto Flute if desired (transcribed part included).
